BLT #40

Here I still am. I’ve heard that black is supposed to be slimming. Did I pull it off? Can hardly tell I Biangi’s still in there, right? Oh, Biangi. I was so sure this baby would be early. Two months ago I thought the kid was about to fall right out. And yet. Here we are. One day before my due date. So I’ve decided to look at this differently. This child will be a rule follower. It’s not supposed to come until it was told to come, so it will wait til then. We will not have discipline problems with this child because it will always want to simply follow the rules. Good thinking, right?

Don’t worry. We will let you know when Biangi does decide to arrive. Keep checking. A lot can change in a day.

BLT #39

Okey dokey. 13 and 1/2 squares. Just shy of 200 lbs. 3 cm dilated. And not a day too soon to go into labor. If I actually do go into labor. Please it would be really nice to go into labor.

Dear Santa . . .

My new thing this week is swelling. I have puffed up. My wedding ring is on a chain since I was able to pry it off my finger. I have 4 pairs of socks that only moderately dig into my ankles. My feet are barely foot-shaped anymore; just kind of blobs that ache and flop around down there where I can’t really see. And the doctor I saw this morning says I’m not nearly as bad off as many women she sees. Oi.

Biangi is healthy. I’m healthy. Just uncomfortable and shirking a lot of my jobs onto Bill (like tying shoes). But, as an obedient wife, I did as I was asked and waited until after Bill’s final. Now I make no more promises and just want Santa to bring me my present early.

Blocked

I finished Biangi’s blanket the other day. I started in August and by now I was feeling the crunch! But, whew, it’s done and ready. You may remember that I did a blanket of fish for Maggie before she was born. This was my hex-a-day knitting project for Biangi. Except these hexagons were pretty fussy so I got a little burned out in the middle and took a long break and got frustrated sewing all 48 of them together because it’s all zig-zaggy instead of straight lines and it ends up being a parallelogram instead of a rectangle. But . . . It’s done and I like it in the end. And it’s cozy and snuggly and completed before Biangi is born. Success!

Polls Closing

Since time keeps marching, and thus people keep getting more and more of an advantage, there is a deadline for Biangi guessing. Sunday is the last day I will take bets for birthday and gender. So get your thinking caps on and enter quick if you want that fudge!
