Our family of 4 lives in Southwest Colorado, close by all sorts of majestically adventurous locales. Maggie, 15, is a voracious reader, wants to be an artist and a scientist when she grows up, but might turn out to be a lawyer based on her sense of justice and strong negotiating skills. She has focus and perseverance and is particularly creative. Tessa, 12, is a skipping, bouncing, energetic imp. She is imaginative and strong, and is definitely the family’s ambassador and social butterfly. Bill’s time is spent teaching chemistry, painting watercolors, throwing pots, and learning new board games to teach the family. He hikes and plein air paints and bike-commutes every day for the sheer joy of being outside. Gretchen keeps the homefires burning while working on jump-starting a novel-writing career. She can sing the family along hiking trails and plan a mean vacation. And Pie, our 7-year-old Siberian husky, will gladly go anywhere and do anything, as long as it involves walking.
We love family travel and adventure, and try to carry that spirit into our everyday lives. It feels like we’re always gearing up for some special kind of adventuring (because you can’t keep a good family down). Stay tuned!
