Our fantesstic, energetic, thoughtful, charismatic bundle of smiles turned 7 yesterday!

We sent her off to school with her chosen treat to share: freeze-dried broccoli florets. (They were devoured — a big hit!) Not only did she have her favorite lesson — art — her class also made gingerbread houses (which we deconstructed on the way home).
Then we had a dinner with our oldest Durango friends (request for tofu, sweet potato fries, more broccoli, guacamole, and pomegranates) with strawberry cheesecake to hold the candle.

For her birthday party, she invited a wonderfully hodge-podge mix of friends (ranging in age from 1-10) to come romp at the gymnastics center.

This kid’s heart — it’s big enough to love the whole world. And we’re so lucky we get to try and keep up with wherever it goes.

Happy birthday, Tessa!
Happy birthday, Tessa!
And she’s beautiful, too, inside and out! What a lucky girl, to be so loved.
Happy, happy birthday, Tessa! See you tomorrow!
