We took the train down to medieval Rothenburg yesterday to walk the town wall and explore the famous Christmas market.

So cool to look over the shingled roofs of town — so many towers and gables and stones.
But it was coooooold. And crammed. So we skipped out early and watched the engineer drive us cozily home.

I can imagine living there in earlier centuries and how cold it must have felt even inside those places.
Hearty Germans weathering the cold!
We LOVED Rothenburg! (did I spell that right?) One of our fave places in Germany!
