Shopping Day

Here is what’s in the refrigerator right now:

Bacon grease, half full container of yogurt, half full carton of vegetable broth

8 oz cream cheese, nice tall stack of corn tortillas, half brick of Munster cheese

10 hard boiled eggs

Pint of cream, 2 half empty bottles whipped cream, flax seeds, brown sugar from Christmas a year ago

2 scallions, 2 carrots, pound of thawing ground beef

I have to say, it’s very tempting to try to make it another day, just to see what we come up with. Plus, add in half a bag of frozen okra and one of mixed berries too, it may even be frivolous to shop today!

However, I don’t think the rest of the family thinks those sorts of challenges are as fun as I do. They like a variety of fruits and veg. Bah! Snobs!

Maybe I should clean the refrigerator though. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions…

Update: No, I did not go shopping. We made that empty fridge comfortably (if not particularly nutritiously) feed us 4 lunches, 4 snacks, 4 dinners, 2 desserts, and 4 breakfasts. And we even have a few eggs plus cream cheese and flax leftover! Now, what can I make from that…?

    1. You are your mother’s daughter. I would definitely go another day, turn off the refrigerator overnight, clean it and start fresh on Thursday.
