Missing: Imagination

You know what book I absolutely love? “Where the Wild Things Are.” It’s just a spectacular children’s book. It’s poetical. Just a few sentences long, but an entire new world. Absolutely accessible to a 2-year-old who loves to have wild rumpus-es. Rumpus-i? Rump-eese?

It may be just me, but it doesn’t seem like books come like that anymore. And it made me wonder about maybe expanding our library.

So any suggestions? What is your favorite children’s book?

  1. Actually, that's my favorite too. πŸ™‚ Although the movie almost ruined it for me (I thought the movie was super depressing and not appropriate for kids). Maybe you should e-mail the other Laura? I bet she could give you a list. She's good at that. Let me know if you need her e-mail address.

  2. The Steven Kellog books are FABULOUS! Very imaginative and the illustrations are so detailed! You see something new each time you read them.
