Maggnificent Monday

A good week. One of those where you just want to write in this blog “Maggie is awesome” and leave it at that. She’s gone on walks around the neighborhood on her own two feet. She’s learned new words: fish and sock. She can almost put together a sentence: bib off. She explored and explored and explored at the children’s museum. She walked out of the grocery store without me (okay, that wasn’t so awesome, but it turned out fine once I caught sight of her walking through the front door). She helps take her shirt over her head when it’s time to undress. She figured out how to smoosh out all the butter or jam from a packet at restaurants. She blows kisses and waves to people on the street when she’s walking down the lane. She got two new molars up top without much complaint. She ate a chocolate cupcake by herself with moderate success. And she learned four elements on the periodic table*!

Awesome. Maggie’s awesome.
*Bill was worried about Maggie’s growing musical proficiency making her learning unbalanced, so he’s cracked down on some science. A girl’s gotta have a balanced diet, you know?

  1. my heart almost stopped & breathing slowed when reading blog today. I didn't realized but should have expected Mag's absorption of all things musical- music simply flows through her house so ….breath, breath…this music thing is logical.

however, i can't believe how Grandpa Scott & G-Sue fell down on our Grandparenting job.

What were we thinking at Christmas, giving books and soft, squishy alphabet block when the more age appropriate gift was a chemistry set for beginners. She can walk, right? Talk? get teeth? and swoosh butter or jam from packets.

Maggie is ready for Chemistry. Go Bill – thanks for balancing this equation.

    love, love…..

Did awesome Maggie perhaps learn Grandma Sue this week??????

  2. I've been showing everyone at work this video and the concensus is that it should be sent in to America's Funniest Videos – maybe our Maggie can win $10,000 and become a TV star!!

Maggie is simply, completely, and utterly amazing! Y'all are doing a fabulous job and you probably need to start thinking about what you'll do when they want to start her out in fourth or fifth grade when she's 5!!

    Love to you all!

  3. Wow!! what a marvelous child She is so fortunate to have such parents !! What a wonderful start in life. You are so lucky and so is Maggie. You are so smart to be enjoying every minute, good, bad or indifferent. She is truly something. Wish I had had the sense when my little ones were born to have put in the kind of time and attention !!Too late! But you know, in spite of all that, we think our three turned out pretty good and we wouldn't trade tham for anything. love to you all Bill and Margie , the greats
